Easy Cubicle Decor to Make You Feel Right at Home

I decided to look into cubicle decor to spice up my desk at work, which has ultimately benefited me in more ways than just a pretty desk. By having a desk that I actually want to sit in, I have found myself to be more motivated and organized.

At work, I am completely surrounded by people whos desks look like my before picture. So when my co-workers just happen to pass by and they catch a glimpse of my cube, they are completely caught off guard. The first question I usually get is, “Did you replace the countertops?”. Of course not! After all, my company owns the space, so I can’t damage it in any way. Instead, I found something that I could cover the desk with…removable wallpaper!

Removable Wallpaper to Cover the Desktop

Removable wallpaper is very popular for rental homes because it allows you to decorate while still collecting your security deposit back. So when I decided to decorate my office, I knew I either had to change the walls or the countertop to get the drastic update I wanted. Since the cubicle has magnetic walls with fabric on them, like most cubicle spaces, it limited what I could do with them. So instead of putting the wallpaper on the walls, I decided to put it on the desk.

I feel in love with this black wallpaper with wood grains in it. Since the wallpaper is vinyl it also withstands water and dirt. It’s been a little over a month since putting it on and so far I haven’t had any issues. And, it only took me about 15 mins to install!

Color Scheme- Black and Gold with Wood Accents

After I decided on my black countertop, I picked out my color scheme. Naturally, I went with my favorite, which is black and gold with some wood accents. Thankfully, this is a very popular color combination so you can find supplies just about anywhere. Amazon and Target were my main two go-to’s.

I love this idea! My cubicle at work looks just like your before picture. Do you have any seams across one work area or is the seam just where the two work areas meet? Also, can you wash it regularly? Thanks!

Thank you!! Yes, certain wallpapers are water-resistant, including the one I used that is linked. Usually, in the description of the wallpaper, it will distinguish whether it is water-resistant or not. I wash it regularly, especially will water spills that I constantly get from watering my plants and it has not impacted the integrity of the wallpaper at all. I hope it works well for you as well 🙂

I love the idea. I’m going to try this in my office. Did you put wallpaper on the drawers also?

When you take the wallpaper off the desk, will it leave a residue? And how do you remove it? Would Contact Paper work?

Have you had to remove it since you installed it? If so, was there any damage?
